Illusions is the tenth album from Alternative Rock group Ivy Blue, released on Saturday the 9th of August 2014.

 

The recording of Illusions began in April 2013 after the dissolving of The Urge's relationship with Kerianne Crene. Urge needed to find a way to get through the heartache, and so the band begun heading back to work on these tracks, refering to them as 'The K Sessions'; but these sessions were abandoned in June 2014 while Urge and Flow took a short break and then met up again to record REVEAL and WORLD MAGNETIC.

 

The 9 track masterpiece features 3 songs from those K sessions (Forever December, Kerianne, and The Wanderer) as well as 6 additional songs (Illusions, McKain's Revenge, If The World, Song For Someone, Ballad of Lover's Flight, and Interlude).

 

The Wanderer is a result of a collaboration between Urge, Flow, and Kerianne's sister Shannon Crene. Urge tells teh story that the band were beginnign tow rite songs in 2012 and they were writing teh song with Shannon's voice in mind and at ocne stage, we were hoping to record it with her but that didn't turn out to be. She hel;ped us a lot writing the lyrics for The Wanderer and helped write the msuic and taught us some tricks. And we did hope to finish it with her; but by that point Shannon had moved with her family to Matamata and mine and Kerianne's relationship dissolved- there was no hope of us continuing the collaboration, so after a while of us putting those sessions and those songs to one side, we revisited it along with teh otehr 2 songs we had developed from the K sessions, I made some adjustmetns to the original lyrics to reflect the feelings that I experienced in those months (and a few texts from Shannon) but still kept the same reflective style we had in those other lyrics. And that was how The Wanderer came about". "And once we finished that song and the K sessions, everything else kinda came together from tehre".

 

The album (like REVEAL and WORLD MAGNETIC) were released unexpectedly on August he 9th 2014, with Ballad of Lover's Flight put out as a single the day before; and the next single slated to be Forever December.
